Special assistance and mini-grants

Special assistance is compensation for necessary expenses, which must be paid for special circumstances, but which you cannot afford to pay yourself.

The municipality has more schemes to help low-income residents:

In the digital leaflet "A helping hand" you can read about the schemes and other forms of help the municipality and other organizations offer for low-income residents.

  • You are 18 years of age or older.
  • You cannot pay the special but necessary expenses yourself.
  • You have no other ways to pay the expenses, for example:

  • Don't have a partner? Then your assets can't be more than €8,000.
  • Are you a single parent? Then it's €16,000.
  • Are you married or living together? Then it is €16,000.
  • Do you own your own home? If so, you may add €67,500 to the amounts above.
  • Do you own a vehicle? Then that is €2,500 for all vehicles owned together.

Assets are everything you own, such as savings, investments, the value of your home, minus your debts and any mortgage debt.
