The predicate 'Royal' is an award for a company, association, foundation or institution. You can request this predicate from the mayor. You may then add the title 'Royal' to the name of your organization. You may also use an image of the Royal Crown in your logo.

The designation Royal symbolizes the respect, appreciation and trust of the King. This does not mean that the organization is a supplier or has any other relationship with the Royal Household.

For more information, visit the Royal House website.

How does it work?

You can get the designation if your company:

  • is very important in your field;
  • at least 100 years;
  • Has at least 100 employees;
  • is demonstrably stable and in good financial standing;
  • is not part of a larger concern that is already Royal;
  • market itself as a Dutch company.

Associations

You can get the predicate for your association if your association:

  • is very important within your field;
  • at least 100 years;
  • does not spread political or other sensitive views;
  • is not part of a larger context that is already Royal.

Unfortunately, if your organization is acquired or there are major structural changes, you may no longer use the Royal designation.

What should I do?

  • Submit an application to the mayor. Do this in the municipality where your organization is located.
  • Clearly explain why your organization deserves the designation.
  • Attach documents that support your explanation.

Submit application

  • By e-mail > to nl
  • By mail > to Postbus 13, 3220 AA Hellevoetsluis
