Royal award, ribbon

If you know someone in your area who deserves a ribbon, please nominate that person.

How does it work?

The rain of ribbons takes place annually on the last working day before King's Day. Most royal honors are awarded during this "rain of ribbons.

  • If you want to nominate someone for next year's ribbon-cutting ceremony, be on time. The submission date varies by municipality, but is between May and August this year.
  • If it is an interim award, make your proposal no later than 6 months before the desired date.

What should I do?

  • Contact the municipality where the candidate lives. There they can indicate whether your proposal is special enough for a royal award.
  • Then check the Ribbons.nl website to see what to do next.
