Household waste

You can dispose of your household waste in the underground waste containers in your neighborhood or in your mini-container. You need an environmental pass to use the underground container.

Underground container

In addition, there are separate underground containers in your neighborhood for paper and cardboard, plastic, glass, and textiles. You can find out which container your waste belongs in by visiting the Afvalscheidingswijzer website at . Check the locations of the underground containers using the Reinis app at .

Minicontainers

If you use mini-containers, please put your trash out on a set day. In the Reinis app at , you’ll find a schedule showing when to put out each mini-container. Do you have a report regarding your mini-container? Please contact the Reinis Customer Service Center at 0181 612864.

Bulky waste

If the waste is too large or too heavy to fit in a trash bag or container, it is considered bulky waste, and different rules apply. See the Bulky Waste page for more information.

Here's how it works

Residual waste, biodegradable waste, bulky household waste and plastic waste packaging (PMD) are collected door-to-door every other week. With the exception of residual waste and GFT waste, it is possible to hand in your waste at the Environmental park.

If your waste is picked up on a set day, it is important that you put it out the right way:

Tips on using underground containers

  • Use a regular gray trash bag and don't overfill it. You can also use pedal bin liners.
  • Your waste will not be registered.
  • Bring waste that does not fit in the container to the Environmental park.
  • Do not place waste next to the container (you risk a fine).
  • Please report if the container is full or if your environmental card is not working.
  • Do not park a car in front of the underground container. This will prevent the container from being emptied.
  • Do not use the container before 8 a.m. and after 9 p.m. This prevents noise pollution for your fellow residents in your living area.

Reinis app (formerly Afvalwijzer)

Through the Reinis app you can:

  • see when which container will be emptied.
  • make an appointment for the collection of Bulky Household Waste. 
  • find the right bin for your waste through a Waste Abc.
  • find information, news and tips about household waste.

Reinis app

You can also download the Reinis app on your smartphone or tablet. You can then set up an automatic notification to remind you when which container will be emptied. To do this, just enter your zip code and house number.
