How does the city council work?

The municipal council is the highest governing body of the municipality. The council represents the people, sets frameworks and controls the municipal executive. Once every 4 years, you determine the composition of the municipal council at the municipal elections.

The City Council consists of 35 members and is advised by 3 council committees: Society Committee, Space Committee and General Affairs and Resources Committee.

Council members like to explore a plan as broadly as possible and hear your opinions before making a decision. That is why the city council organizes image-forming evenings prior to the meetings of the council committees in which you can have your say on the topics on the program. It is the time when council members may have an opinion, but have not yet formed a final position. These evenings are always public and informal.

After that, there is plenty of room in a committee meeting for speech, questions and discussion so that committee members can determine their positions. The council committees advise the council on the position to be taken. In the council meeting, the city council makes a decision. You can attend committee and council meetings physically or digitally.
