Council Committees

A council committee prepares and advises the council on the decision-making of issues in the council. Each council committee specializes in a number of topics and has its own set of duties.

In the committee meeting, committee members form their opinions on topics on the agenda. The committee prepares for council decision-making. They do this by debating (discussing) with the other groups and the board on items for discussion and council proposals.

The council committees consist of representatives of the 12 political parties that sit on the council. The committee members are council and/or committee members. There are two or three per party.
