Free Preschool

Young children learn very quickly. At preschool, your child learns through play. This helps with language development, interacting with other children, and getting off to a good start in elementary school.

Do you have a low income? And are you not eligible for the child care subsidy?
If so, you may be able to take advantage of free preschool. We call this the in-kind preschool program.

When are you eligible?

You may be eligible for free toddler care if:

  • your child is between 2 years and 3 months and 4 years old
  • you Voorne aan Zee in the municipality of Voorne aan Zee
  • your income does not exceed 120% of the welfare standard
  • your net worth is below the net worth threshold
  • you are not eligible for the child care allowance or any other child care subsidy

The municipality pays the costs directly to the daycare center. You will not receive any money yourself.

Are you eligible for the child care subsidy?

Are you and your partner employed, or are you enrolled in an educational program, an integration course, or a reintegration program through the municipality?
If so, you are often eligible for a childcare allowance from the Tax and Customs Administration. In that case, you cannot receive free toddler care. You may be able to receive reimbursement for the personal contribution through special assistance.
