Roadworks
The roads in the municipality of Voorne aan Zee are managed by different government organizations. The Department of Public Works manages the N57 and the A15. The province of Zuid-Holland manages the N218, N494, N496 and the N497. All other (polder) roads are managed by the Hollandse Delta water board. The municipality manages the roads within the built-up area. You can look up who the road administrator is via the Rijkswaterstaat website if you are in doubt.

N496: works June 10 - 21, 2025 at Oostvoorne and Rockanje
The province is carrying out maintenance on the N496 near Oostvoorne and Rockanje from June 10 to June 21, 2025. The road will be completely closed at that time. Traffic will follow detour routes.
To keep this road in good condition for the safety of road users, the province is carrying out major maintenance on the N496 after the N218-Kleidijk traffic circle (Oostvoorne) up to and including the Nieuwe Achterweg traffic circle (Rockanje). They are removing the old asphalt, resurfacing the road and applying new lines. View the schedule and detour routes via the Province of South Holland website.
Relocation of turning basin 2nd strike Rockanje
Starting in June 2025, public transportation will again be offered at the beach on the 2nd stroke in Rockanje during the summer months. The bus will run a different route than before, which means that the turning loop must be modified. Simultaneously with the relocation of the turning loop, the bus stop will be made disabled accessible.
Work will start from Wednesday, May 28, 2025 through Friday, June 13. During the work, the Tweede Slag parking lot will be accessible via C.G. Kleijburgweg. After 4 p.m. and on Ascension Day and Pentecost, no work will be carried out and Tweede Slag and C.G. van Kleijburgweg will be passable.
New bus line
The new bus line 803 will run on all days starting June 14 on weekends and summer vacations. The bus rides of the 403 from Spijkenisse that normally have its terminus in Brielle will continue directly to the beach without calling at the towns of Oostvoorne and Rockanje.

A15 night and weekend closures
In order to complete the connection to the A24 Blankenburg link, among other things, the asphalt and lineation on the A15 will be replaced, between junction 15 (Havens 4100-5200; Welplaatweg) and the Thomassen Tunnel. In addition, major asphalt maintenance is taking place on the A15 and a new surface layer is being applied between the Harmsenbrug and the Stenen Baakplein. More information can be found on the website Zuid-Holland bereikbaar.
Heveringsweg/ Boomweg
Water Board Hollandse Delta is going to tackle the stretch that runs from Oostvoorne to Rockanje. This concerns the Heveringseweg, Verlengde Lodderlandsedijk, Boomweg and Vleerdamsedijk. The route will be designed in a Sustainable Safety manner and major maintenance will be carried out on some sections. More information can be found on the Hollandse Delta Water Board's project website.
Rehabilitation of Jupiterlaan and Middeldijk Rockanje
Commissioned by the Municipality of Voorne aan Zee , the Jupiterlaan and surrounding streets will be repaved and climate-adaptively redesigned. The Middeldijk from Nieuwe Achterweg to Hoogvlietlaan will also be renewed.
What exactly are we going to do do?
Jupiter Avenue and its surroundings are getting a major overhaul. As part of this renovation, an extra rainwater sewer will be constructed for climate reasons. There will also be more greenery in the street and we are looking at climate solutions, such as disconnecting rainwater. In this way, the street will be ready for the future! A widening of the roadway is planned for Middeldijk to meet current safety requirements. We will also disconnect rainwater and drain it into the adjacent ditch and canal. This year we will design the plans and next spring implementation is scheduled.
Working together
To actively involve residents in the plans, we will start with design tables during an initial information evening. These design tables are shaped by residents in collaboration with our design specialists. Together we think about the neighborhood in the future. If there are topics that we can deepen, we will set up a sounding board group with representatives from the street for this purpose. At the information evening you will receive more information about those possibilities and possible participation in the sounding board group.
