We will treat the bridge's steel components, replace the wooden bridge deck and the wearing course, and repair rust, joints, and masonry.
Where and when?
The work will take place from Monday, August 31, through Friday, October 2.
The Juliana Bridge in Brielle will be completely closed to all traffic during the construction work. The Molen Bridge will remain open during this time.

- A detour route is marked with signs and is also listed in the BouwApp.
- On Saturday, September 12, the Juliana Bridge will be open to pedestrians and cyclists due to Brielle Maritiem. Other traffic must follow the detour as indicated by the signs.
- The waterway under the bridge will be closed for about a week and a half during the construction work. We will announce when and for how long the waterway will be closed via the BouwApp and on signs. Beens Groep is coordinating this with the harbor master.
- Would you like to use the waterway under the bridge while the work is underway? If so, please coordinate this with the harbor master in advance. All turning maneuvers must be arranged in advance.

Catharina Bridge Temporarily Closed
What are we going to do?
On Friday, August 14, 2026, we will remove the superstructure and part of the bridge deck of the Catharina Bridge in Brielle. This will help us prevent an unsafe situation and ensure the highest possible level of safety in and around the harbor.
The bridge is in poor condition. A problem arose this week that prevented the bridge from closing after it was opened. A follow-up inspection revealed that it is no longer safe to open the bridge or to leave it in the open position.
We had already decided to replace the Catharina Bridge in 2027. Due to the current situation, we now have to take action.
Where and when?
The Catharina Bridge is located across from the former municipal office in Brielle.
On Friday, August 14, 2026, we will remove the superstructure and part of the bridge deck. The bridge will be cordoned off with fences and closed to traffic.
What does this mean for you?
During the work, traffic around the Catharina Bridge may experience temporary disruptions. At times, we may need to briefly stop traffic so that we can work safely.
We are implementing traffic control measures, and traffic controllers are directing traffic.
Please allow for extra travel time and follow the directions of the traffic controllers.
We are also exploring possible temporary solutions to maintain the connection as well as possible until the new bridge is completed.
More Information and Contact
As soon as we have more information about a temporary solution and the timeline for replacing the bridge, we will let you know.

Where and when?
The work will take place from Monday, August 31, through Friday, September 25.
The road bridge on Oostkade in Hellevoetsluis, between house number 4 and the Heeren aan de Vesting restaurant, is completely closed during construction.
What does this mean for you?
- A detour route will be in effect during the construction work. It is marked with signs and is also listed in the BouwApp.
- Pedestrians can use the adjacent pedestrian bridge along the water.

Redesign of Jupiter Avenue and surrounding area
What are we going to do?
We are installing a new storm sewer system on Jupiterlaan, Plutostraat, Sagittastraat, Orionstraat, Librastraat, Wega, and a portion of Van Leijdenstraat.
As a result, rainwater does not enter the wastewater sewer system but is drained into the groundwater or the canal. We connect all the drainage inlets on the roadway to this sewer system.
After installing the new sewer line, we will reseal the street using the same materials. The sewer trench must settle for three months to prevent the street from sinking later.
Next, we'll redesign the neighborhood. Among other things, we'll replace the pavement with new materials. We'll also plant new shrubs and trees.
Where and when?
The work will take place from Monday, March 9, through the end of December.
These include Jupiterlaan, Plutostraat, Sagittastraat, Orionstraat, Librastraat, Wega, and a portion of Van Leijdenstraat in Rockanje.
What does this mean for you?
Some homes may be harder to reach by car during the construction work. Residents can always reach their homes on foot.
