Renovation of the Marinebuurt neighborhood in Hellevoetsluis

The Marinebuurt neighborhood in Hellevoetsluis is undergoing a thorough renovation. The paving is outdated and has deteriorated further due to previous work. That is why contractor Van Doorn, commissioned by the municipality Voorne aan Zee, is starting an extensive improvement of the neighborhood. Below you will find more information about the work.

What are we going to do?

Work began on Monday, November 24, 2025, and is expected to last until mid-December 2026. It will be carried out in phases. Work will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Homes will always remain accessible on foot.

We are renewing nearly all the paving in the Marinebuurt neighborhood. We are also replacing playground equipment that needs to be updated. As part of this project, we’re making the neighborhood more climate-friendly. For example, we’re creating green parking spaces, planting new trees, and, where possible, replacing unnecessary paving with greenery. Existing green spaces will also be renewed. Furthermore, we’re repairing the sewer system in areas where subsidence has occurred. Finally, we’re replacing the revetments along the riverbank near Dibbetsplantsoen. These will be modified to create a nature-friendly riverbank.
