• You need a permit if you want to place a terrace at your catering establishment. Even if you place the terrace on your own property.
  • Also apply for the permit if you want to place a flower box or street furniture.

If you want to install screens, roofs or decking on your patio you may need to apply for a separate environmental permit.

How does it work?

You apply for the permit from the municipality. To do so, call 14 0181.

Please provide the following information in your application:

  • name and address of your company
  • the dimensions of your terrace (with drawing)

Opening hours terrace

If you have a terrace license, your terrace must be closed at the following times:

- Hellevoetsluis, the Vesting: between 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
- Hellevoetsluis, outside the Vesting: between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
- Brielle: Monday through Friday between midnight and 9:00 a.m. and on Saturday and Sunday between 1:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
- Westvoorne: between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
 

What should I do?

Do you want to apply for a permit for a terrace at your catering establishment? Then you must first have an operating permit. Do you already have this permit? Then you can apply for a terrace permit.

Currently, you can only apply for a permit by calling 14 0181. This service will soon be available online again.

How long does it take?

The municipality considers only complete applications. It takes 6 to 16 weeks to process the application. After that, the municipality will let you know if you get the permit. 

Objecting

If you disagree with the municipality's decision make an objection within 6 weeks.
