Catering establishment operating license
Before establishing, taking over or relocating a catering establishment, you must apply for an operating license. It is prohibited to operate a catering establishment without a permit from the mayor (art. 2:28 APV). If the form of business changes, a new operating license must also be applied for.
- Are you going to serve alcoholic beverages? If so, you must also apply for an Alcohol License.
- Do you want to place gaming machines in the establishment? If so, you must also apply for a permit for gaming machines.
A catering establishment means:
- A public establishment such as a hotel, restaurant, boarding house, café, cafeteria, snack bar, nightclub, community center or clubhouse;
- Any other enclosed space accessible to the public in which lodging is provided or beverages are served or smoking or food for immediate consumption is provided or prepared as a business or on a scale similar to a business;
- A terrace: an area outside the enclosed area of the public establishment where standing or seating can be provided and where, for a fee, drinks can be served or food for immediate consumption can be prepared or provided.
- Public establishment shall include a part thereof located outside the enclosed space of the public establishment where standing or seating may be provided and where, for a fee, beverages may be served or food for immediate consumption may be prepared or provided.
