Voorne aan Zee Celebrate Differently: From Old to New 2026–2027

Now that the way we celebrate New Year’s Eve is changing, it’s time to work together to create new traditions at Voorne aan Zee. We therefore invite associations, foundations, civic organizations, entrepreneurs, and other organizers to help create a festive, safe, and meaningful New Year’s Eve celebration.

To make these ideas a reality, the municipality is launching a temporary grant program for alternative New Year’s Eve celebrations in the various villages and neighborhoods of Voorne aan Zee. Through this program, we aim to encourage creative and community-building initiatives that bring residents together and foster new traditions. A grant of up to €5,000 can be requested for a well-developed plan.

Think, for example, of neighborhood parties, cultural performances, group countdown events, winter get-togethers, activities for young and old, sports events, or other creative ideas that foster social interaction, fun, and a sense of community. The goal is not just to organize something, but to create new traditions that reflect our villages and our community.

How does it work?

We are looking for plans that:

  • bring residents together and be accessible to a neighborhood, district, village, or broader group of residents;
  • fit in with the atmosphere and identity of one's own village or neighborhood;
  • contribute to a safe, festive, and fireworks-free New Year's Eve;
  • be creative, innovative, and forward-thinking;
  • lay the groundwork for a recurring tradition;
  • take place on December 31, 2026, and/or January 1, 2027.

The Regulations at a Glance

Up to €5,000 per activity. Applications may be submitted from October 1 through November 30, 2026. The activity must take place on December 31, 2026, and/or January 1, 2027, and must be open to the public or easily accessible, bring people together, and be fireworks-free. The Events Desk will provide early guidance on the permit process.
