Sewer clogging
There are 2 types of sewers in the municipality of Voorne aan Zee :
- free-fall sewers (mainly in city centers)
- pressure sewerage (in the outlying area)
Below we recommend what to do in case of a sewer blockage (depending on the type of sewer system).
Free-fall sewers
You live in a house for sale?
Is the sewage or toilet water in your home not draining properly? If so, there may be a sewer blockage. Is the sewer clogged on your own property? Then you must fix the clog yourself (or have it fixed). A clog on municipal land will be cleared by us.
Where is the blockage?
To determine where the clog is, you must first dig up the property separation manhole. The property separation manhole is the last manhole in the house connection and is generally located about half a meter inside the property line on your land. Don't know where your easement pit is? Then call Lindeloof B.V. This sewer service can be reached by phone at: 0657352009 or by e-mail: nl
Important
- Is the excavated pit full of sewage? Then the clog is on municipal property.
- Is the excavated well empty? Then the clog is on your own property.
In the event of a blockage on municipal property, always contact Lindeloof B.V.'s trouble-shooting service first. This sewer service can be reached at telephone number: 0657352009 or by e-mail: nl (Outside business hours and during holidays, you can also contact the trouble-shooting service).
Choose a reliable unclogging company
Are you arranging for a plumbing company yourself? Then pay close attention! Some emergency service companies take advantage of your emergency situation. Avoid bad repairs and high costs. These companies also claim that you can claim the costs from the municipality if the problem is on municipal land. This is incorrect. Be aware of this before choosing a plumbing company.
- Check if your building or contents insurance covers the leak or clog. Insurance sometimes helps you find a company. Or they may send someone themselves to look at the damage and repair it.
- Do you search the Internet using a search engine (e.g., Google)? Unreliable emergency services make great use of advertisements to get to the top of search results. Search a little further among the results that are not ads.
- Agree in advance on the work and the amount. Ask for confirmation of costs by e-mail, text message or in writing. Then you can hold the company to that later.
- Should you sign when the handyman is at your home? Never put your signature on the spot. All agreements and their costs should be clearly written on it. Is the form not completely filled out? Then do not sign. Will the company not start before you sign? Send the company away.
You live in a rental property?
The same rules apply to residents of municipal housing company rental properties as for owner/occupants of owner-occupied homes. A de-cluttering fund has been established for municipal rental housing. Through an additional contribution, tenants participating in this fund can appeal to the Woonbedrijf. The Woonbedrijf then takes care of unblocking the connection.
As a tenant, would you like to participate in this de-cluttering fund? Then contact the Woonbedrijf Voorne aan Zee by phone: 0181 40 80 52 or by email: nl
Pressure sewerage outside area
At properties in the outlying area, in most cases the wastewater is pumped out via small sewage pumping stations. This pumping station is located near your home and has a red (failure) lamp at the top. In case of a sewerage failure, first check to see if this lamp is lit.
Red lamp
If this lamp is lit, it means that there is a malfunction in the pump unit. Both on working days within and outside office hours and on holidays, you can contact Kwakernaak BV's trouble-shooting service for this.
This sewer service can be reached by calling 0184 68 91 68 or by email: nl
Costs
Blockage is on council property
The cost of unblocking is for the municipality.
Clog is on your own property
You must pay the cost of unblocking yourself. Note! If you commission an unblocking company to do the work, you will have to pay the costs yourself. Even if the clog is on municipal property.
