Psychological help, notification

Are you worried about someone and do you think this person needs urgent psychological help because he or she is a danger to themselves or others? Then you can report this to the Voorne aan Zee Social Area Team. Call 14 0181 to do so. This report will then go to the Mandatory Mental Health Care Disclosure Office.

Is there acute danger? Then call 112. Then appropriate measures can be taken quickly, such as mandatory Mental Health.

How does it work?

Family or neighbors can report to the municipality that they have serious concerns about someone. The municipality then investigates what help is needed. The person concerned can then get help as soon as possible. It may also be that someone is a danger to themselves or their surroundings. We call this a crisis. Then that person needs help immediately.

After the report, the municipality investigates whether and what help is needed. This is done with an exploratory examination. A psychiatrically trained staff member assesses whether the person is a danger to himself or others. The staff member also investigates whether this is due to a psychiatric disorder.

Mandatory Health

Only if there is no other way will the municipality deploy mandatory Health . Then the municipality asks the prosecutor for a care authorization. Ultimately, the judge decides whether this person receives mandatory Health . A person who needs mandatory Health may receive Health at home or be admitted to a care facility.

Patient confidential advisor (PVP).

The person in need of psychological help is entitled to help from a patient confidential advisor (PVP). The PVP is employed by the independent PVP Foundation. If the person who needs help wants it, the municipality passes on his/her contact information to this foundation.

Would you like support from a PVP? Then give the municipality permission to pass on your contact information to the PVP Foundation. You can also contact them yourself via telephone number (0900) 444 88 88 or send an e-mail to nl

What should I do?

How long does it take?

  • As an affected family member, you will receive the outcome of the examination within 14 days.
  • Do you disagree with the outcome? Then you can demand that the prosecutor still investigate the case.
  • If you are not a close family member, you will not receive information about the outcome.
  • After your report, in a crisis situation, mandatory mental Health may be initiated immediately. This is done on the basis of a medical certificate from a psychiatrist. The mayor must issue a crisis order within 18 hours of the deployment of mandatory Health .
