Property tax (OZB).

You pay property tax (OZB) if you own an immovable property, such as a home or commercial property.

You do not have to pay OZB if you rent a house. You do pay OZB if you rent a commercial building.

Samenwerkingsverband Vastgoedinformatie Heffing en Waardealing (SVHW) collects municipal taxes, including the OZB, for the municipality of Voorne aan Zee.

How does it work?

  1. SVHW sends you a WOZ assessment on behalf of the municipality of Voorne aan Zee . This contains the appraised value of your home or premises for the coming years.
  2. Every year in February or March, you will receive an assessment from SVHW containing the property tax you have to pay.
  3. SVHW assumes the situation on January 1 of the year in question. If you sell your property on January 2, you still have to pay the tax for the entire year. At the time of the sale, the notary will settle this with the buyer.
  4. If you disagree with the property tax assessment, you can object to it on the SVHW website.

Objecting

Do you disagree with the assessment? Then you can file an objection via the SVHW website. Submit your objection within 6 weeks of the date on the assessment notice.

Additional information OZB

You must also pay OZB for real estate you are (still) having built. Also for houseboats and caravans you sometimes have to pay OZB. For certain real estate you do not have to pay OZB, for example for churches.

Amount of OZB to be paid

Every year, the municipality calculates the value of homes and other real estate. This is called the WOZ value. The municipality uses this value to determine how much OZB you have to pay. More information about the WOZ value can be found on the SVHW website.
