Monument remodeling, repair or maintenance
Sometimes a home or structure has monument status. You must always apply for a permit to alter a monument; there are rules associated with this.

The municipality of Voorne aan Zee has 448 national monuments, 188 municipal monuments and three national protected town and village views. To alter or restore a monument or building within a protected townscape, you must usually apply for an environmental permit. The Spatial Quality and Monuments Committee assesses the permit application for the preservation of the cultural-historical value and for reasonable standards of appearance.
In the case of a large-scale modification of a national monument, the National Office for Cultural Heritage also advises. Information about an environmental permit can be found on the Building and Remodeling Permits page.
