Livability Fund
You probably know them, those big windmills near the Slufterdam on the Maasvlakte? With these windmills, Eneco and Vattenfall generate clean energy in our municipality. In the Netherlands, we made agreements with each other about windmills and wind farms. One of those agreements is that residents of Oostvoorne, Rockanje and/or Tinte should benefit from the wind farm. Together with Eneco and Vattenfall, the former municipality of Westvoorne therefore established the Leefbaarheidsfonds (Livability Fund).
How does it work?
With the Liveability Fund, Eneco, Vattenfall and the municipality jointly make money available each year to make our municipality more sustainable and thus increase the enjoyment of living there. These are projects or actions in Oostvoorne, Rockanje and/or Tinte that focus on the following points:
- Making social buildings more sustainable and energy efficient; and/or
- For the purpose of sustainability, increase livability; and/or
- Making a positive contribution to the energy transition.
For whom is the fund intended?
All community organizations, associations and civic initiatives within Oostvoorne, Rockanje and/or Tinte can participate with a proposal focused on the above objective(s) and have a chance to win a contribution from the fund.
Until when can you apply?
New applications must be submitted by March 1, 2025. The review committee evaluates all applications. This committee then gives advice to the College of B&W of the Municipality of Voorne aan Zee about the projects that are eligible for a contribution from the fund.
