Gravestone or memorial placement

If you want to place a headstone or memorial on a grave, you need a permit from the municipality. Your gravestone specialist or stonemason can arrange this for you.

What should I do?

Usually the stonemason will apply for the permit for you. The funeral director may also do this for you. You may also apply for the permit yourself. Please provide the following information with the application:

  • details of the person entitled to the grave
  • the dimensions of the memorial (including situation sketch)
  • the type of material
  • the text
  • On which grave you wish to place the memorial
