The municipality finds it important that residents are well insured. Therefore, we offer low-income residents a collective health insurance policy (Gemeentepolis).

The Municipal Policy offers several advantages. For example, the municipality helps pay for your health insurance and you will receive ample reimbursement for glasses/lenses, physical therapy, dental expenses, exercise programs and health courses, among other things.

You can choose from two supplementary packages, municipalities extra and municipalities extra extended.

After deducting municipal contribution, the monthly premium for 2025 is :

Municipalities extra € 178.72
Municipalities extra extended € 206.37

The municipal package extra extensive includes buyout deductible of €385 per year.

You can get more information about the differences between the packages and the premium structure via the website Healthy Insurance . You can also see if you meet the income and asset limits.

Requirements to join the Municipal Policy

The Requirements to participate in the Municipal Policy are:

  • You live in Voorne aan Zee and are registered here.
  • You are not known to the Care Institute Netherlands because of premium payment arrears.
  • Your income is less than 120% of the social assistance standard applicable to your situation. Read more information about the correct amounts on the Rijksoverheid website(external link).

Power

Whether you are entitled to group health insurance also depends on your assets.

The asset limit (as of Jan. 1, 2025) is:

  • €7,770 for those without a partner.
  • €15,540 for single parents.
  • €15,540 for people who are married or living together.
  • If you own your own home, there is an additional release of €65,500.

What should I do?

You can switch to the municipal policy until December 31. You can do so through the website Gezond verzekerd.

On the website you will also find all the information about the different packages, such as:

  • What you pay per package.
  • An overview of reimbursements by package.
  • A handy decision aid.

Check which package is best for you. You can use the decision aid to enter the health care costs for which you want to be insured. Then you will see which package best suits it. If you want, you can immediately switch to another package. Don't want a different package? Then you do not have to do anything.

Additional information

  • For some healthcare costs you do not have to pay a deductible. For this, see the
overview of reimbursements. You will see for each reimbursement whether you must first draw on your deductible
    .
  • Do you choose limited insurance with a low premium? Then some expenses will be reimbursed only in part or not at all.
  • Do you opt for supplementary insurance with a higher premium? Then you will be reimbursed for more costs. The municipality does not contribute to the extra costs for supplementary insurance.
  • You can only apply for special assistance for costs higher than the maximum reimbursement of the comprehensive insurance. This also applies if you have insurance with a low premium.

Switching

Switching to the municipal policy

You can switch to the municipal policy until December 31. You can do so through the website of Gezondverzekerd.

In some cases, you can also change health insurance companies at other times during the year:

  • You are already insured with CZ when you ask the municipality for assistance.
  • You are not insured when you apply to the municipality for assistance.
  • Your health insurance has been terminated (in the meantime).

Switching to another health insurance policy

Are you considering switching from the Municipal Policy to another health insurance policy? If so, please note the following:

  • You have until Jan. 1 to switch to your new health insurer.
  • Often the new health insurer will cancel your old health insurance, but be sure to ask! You do not have to
notify the municipality of your switch.
  • Are you in arrears or in debt with CZ? Then you cannot switch to another health insurer. Do you want to switch? Then you must first make a payment arrangement. Only if the full amount is paid before December 31 can you switch.

Additional information

After submitting the application, the municipality will check your data and may request additional information if necessary. We use Suwi-net to check your data. The municipality will inform you in writing whether or not you can participate in the collective health insurance. If you can participate, you will receive the municipal policy from CZ.
