Ash container

You can scatter the ashes of a deceased person. This may be done in the open sea or in a scattering field intended for that purpose. If you want to scatter the ashes in another place, you need an exemption from the owner of the land.

How does it work?

After a cremation, the ashes of the deceased are collected in an ash container. This ash container remains in the general niche of the crematorium for one month. During this month, you decide what you want to do with the ashes.

You may use the ashes, for example:

  • scattering on the open sea or
  • in a designated scatter field
  • store at home
  • interment in a designated area of a crematorium or cemetery
  • buried in a grave
  • take abroad (export)
