Alderman signs off on insulating Woonbedrijf homes

Monday, November 24, Alderman Daan van Orselen signed the agreement with the Isolatiespecialistnl for the maintenance of over 700 rental homes owned by the Woonbedrijf. An important step in this process is the installation of cavity wall and/or floor insulation.

Alderman D van Orselen signs agreement with de Isolatiespecialistnl

De Isolatiespecialistnl will start the preparatory work this year. Woonbedrijf aims to have the rental homes insulated by the end of 2027. In 2030 all rental properties must meet the national sustainability requirements. Woonbedrijf is even ahead of this and expects to comply by 2028.

Cavity wall insulation

Cavity wall insulation involves filling the space between the interior and exterior walls with insulating material. This keeps the house warmer in winter and cooler in summer. A well-insulated home provides more comfort, lower energy consumption and therefore lower energy costs. In addition, it is better for the environment because less energy is needed to heat the home. Alderman Daan van Orselen: "We are proud that we, as Woonbedrijf of the municipality of Voorne aan Zee , may rent out good and sustainable homes at an affordable rent."

Floor insulation

Floor insulation involves insulating the underside of the floor with insulating material. This keeps out the cold from the crawl space and keeps the heat inside the house better. The tenant notices this immediately: the floor feels more comfortable and the house stays comfortably warm in winter. This also ensures greater living comfort, lower energy consumption and therefore lower energy costs.
