On Wednesday, March 11, Alderman Schop unveiled the construction sign for the work on Nelson Mandelalaan in Hellevoetsluis. The municipality plans to make the bicycle crossings at the intersections with Dorpsweg and Bonseweg safer and more convenient. The current speed bumps will be replaced by traffic islands equipped with traffic lights.
Alderman explains: “Many people find the current, rather high curbs to be a nuisance. With the new traffic islands and traffic lights, we are making the road more pleasant and future-proof without compromising the safety of vulnerable road users.”
The work will take four weeks
Work will begin on Monday, April 20, and is expected to last four weeks. More information about the work can be found on the Roadwork page.
