What are we going to do?

The municipality Voorne aan Zee a heating program. This program outlines how we will heat our homes once natural gas is no longer an option.

By 2050, the Netherlands will no longer use natural gas. This means we’ll have to find other ways to heat our homes, cook, and heat water. That’s why the city is exploring which heating methods are best suited to our residents and neighborhoods. The heating program provides clarity: what’s possible where and when, and what that means for you.

How do we go about this?

We are developing the heating program step by step. In doing so, we are considering technical feasibility, investments, and what residents consider important.

Residents, businesses, and organizations are involved in this process. This is done, among other ways, through:

The municipality collects all this information so it can make decisions.

The heating program will be developed in stages and is expected to be finalized by the end of 2026.
