Foster child care reporting

If you are caring for and raising a foster child for an extended period of time, report it to the municipality. This also applies to institutions caring for and raising a foster child. If the child leaves again, you must report this to the municipality.

How does it work?

The municipality looks at what help and Health is best for the child.
If this is foster care and you are not yet an official foster parent, an assessment is made to see if you are suitable as a foster parent. This is done by a foster care organization.
The foster care organization will apply for a certificate of no objection on your behalf from the Child Protection Council.
If you are allowed to become a foster parent to the child, you may receive compensation. You will also receive support from the foster care organization.

What should I do?

You report that you are caring for a foster child to the municipality. To do this, call 14 0181.
You do this within 1 week.
If your foster child leaves or dies, also report this to the municipality.
