Making homes more sustainable Woonbedrijf
Status of Sustainability Initiatives
The floor and cavity wall insulation project is proceeding according to schedule. De Isolatiespecialist.nl conducted an assessment at most of the homes. This involved determining what insulation work needs to be done in the homes. Several teams from De Isolatiespecialist.nl are currentlynl at various locations. De Isolatiespecialist is currently working in Rockanje and Oostvoorne, followed by Brielle. Most homes are expected to be completed by the spring of 2027.
Woonbedrijf is working hard to meet the sustainability requirements for the homes it owns, and we are even ahead of targets. By 2028, all 1425 Woonbedrijf homes will meet the set sustainability targets. This is good news for tenants as living comfort increases and energy costs decrease.
A certified consultant manages the energy labels of the Woonbedrijf's rental properties. They investigated how the Woonbedrijf could improve the energy efficiency of all homes. After this, Woonbedrijf set to work. Woonbedrijf started with the houses that are older and less energy efficient.
Nature Protection Act
In (preservation) projects, the Woonbedrijf must always take into account the Nature Protection Act. This act protects animals such as house sparrows, swifts and bats. It is forbidden to kill, capture or damage these animals' habitats. It is therefore necessary to investigate whether protected species are present prior to a project. We therefore always have an ecological study carried out at the start of a project. We always opt for nature-friendly insulation and we provide replacement habitats if protected species are present. In addition, we avoid work during the breeding season of protected species. In this way, we can preserve homes without harming nature.
