Bushes stroll park Burgemeester Bolwidtweg in Oostvoorne

Residents of Voorne aan Zee were allowed to dig out plants from the park on the Ruy in Oostvoorne for their own gardens on Saturday, November 1. The plants in the village park have to go to make the land ready for building.

Left Alderman Daan van Orselen along with on the right Alderman Robert van der Kooi dig perennials out of the ground at park de Ruy

These were good quality perennials such as asters and geraniums. Aldermen Daan van Orselen and Robert van der Kooi gave the starting signal at 10 a.m. together with the design manager of Bouwgroep Schrijver. Residents had until 2 p.m. to use their own tools to dig out a few (maximum of fifteen) plants per address and plant them in their own gardens.

This action is part of the preparations for the construction of the 24 life-proof apartments. The bushes in the current village park, located between apartment complex De Brielsche Hoeck and the complex on the Elisabethhof, had to go in order to make the land ready for construction. The municipality thinks it is a waste to remove and dispose of the plants and therefore gave residents of Voorne aan Zee the opportunity to collect plants.
