Social Medical Indication

You want to solve your physical, psychological or social problems, but you cannot do it at the same time as raising and caring for your child. It may be necessary for your child to attend child care. You may be able to apply for a temporary childcare allowance on the basis of a Social Medical Indication. 

Who is it for?

Applying for Social Medical Indication (SMI) is possible if all of the following apply to you:

  • You are not entitled to Child Care Allowance from the Tax Office.
  • You have physical, psychological or social problems that make raising and caring for your children difficult.
  • You have no network or other opportunities to organize care for your child.
  • You live in the municipality of Voorne aan Zee.

Requirements

  • The municipality determines whether you belong to the target group temporary childcare allowance Social Medical Indication.
  • The Social Medical Indication is issued for the duration of up to 9 months and this duration can be extended once with a maximum of 3 months.
  • In determining the duration of the allowance, a maximum of 156 hours per month for day care and 65 hours per month for out-of-school care applies.
  • The municipal fee is equal to the fee you would receive in Child Care Allowance from the Tax Office.
