Working Together on the Heat of the Future
We are currently still using natural gas. By 2050, we will be natural gas-free and will switch to other energy sources for heating our homes, taking showers, and cooking with hot water. That is why the municipality of Voorne aan Zee is working with residents on a heating program. This program will outline the available options and what is needed to implement them. The municipality will ultimately adopt this program.
Engaging with Residents
The municipality believes it is important to involve residents in the heating program from the very beginning. During the first community meeting in July, discussions were held with residents. Residents shared what they consider important, what questions and concerns they have, and what opportunities and possibilities they see.
We are incorporating the information residents have shared with us into the development of the heating program. The Netherlands must be natural gas-free by 2050. We will determine together how best to achieve this in Voorne aan Zee . It is therefore important that residents make their voices heard and that we take steps toward the future together.
Second Residents' Meeting
On Wednesday, September 16, the municipality will hold a second residents’ evening. It will take place at Droogdok Jan Blanken from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The “ Alderman ” cordially invites residents to attend. During this event, we’ll share more about the heating program and what it can mean for you. We’d love to hear your questions and ideas, as well as what matters most to you.
We are still in the planning phase. That means there is no finalized plan yet. Residents’ input is therefore important and helps us find solutions that are right for Voorne aan Zee and the people who live here. Not everything can be done the same way everywhere. We are therefore looking at what is feasible and affordable for as many people as possible, so that we can arrive at a good and fair plan.
