What are we going to do?
We are currently developing the Hof van Maerlant new-construction project in Brielle. This development will take place in three phases:
- Phase 1: Sale and allocation of 14 lots on Prinses Amalialaan (south side, adjacent to Jan Matthijssenlaan/Spuilaan).
- Phase 2: Development of the apartment complex in the former Rijks-HBS building, later Maerlant College
- Phase 3: Sale and allocation of 6 lots on Prinses Amalialaan (north side, adjacent to Simon Jan Molsingel – Het Spui) and allocation of the individual lot on Prinses Beatrixlaan (on the west side of the apartment complex)
Please note: Phase 3 includes 6 lots on Amalialaan, but the last lot (Lot 19) will not be allocated until construction of the other 5 lots in Phase 3 has been completed and the construction road is no longer needed.
Where will the work take place?
Hof van Maerlant is located in Brielle. The project area is in the De Plantage neighborhood, on the site of the former Maerlant College on Jan Matthijssenlaan.
The route for construction traffic runs along the N218 (Groene Kruisweg) directly to the lots on Prinses Amalialaan.
When does what happen?
Sales and Construction
Construction of Phases 1 and 2 has now been completed. The apartments were delivered in 2023, and all homes have been built on the 14 lots in Phase 1.
Phase 3 includes 6 lots on Prinses Amalialaan. Of these, 5 lots have already been awarded and sold (at Requirements). Construction is currently underway on these 5 lots, and we expect them to be completed in 2026.
The sixth and final lot (Lot 19) on Prinses Amalialaan is located directly on the construction road that leads to the N218 (Groene Kruisweg). This lot cannot be released until the other lots no longer require the construction road. We expect this final lot to go on sale in the fall of 2026. Construction traffic for this lot will also travel via the N218. Traffic will then go directly to and from the lot itself, with additional traffic control as needed.
The single lot on Prinses Beatrixlaan from Phase 3 was sold and transferred in 2024. Construction is currently underway on this lot, and the structural work is complete.
Work to Prepare the Site for Residential Development
At the same time, on September 10, 2026, we began preparing the public space for residential use. We will then be working on the final design of:
- The Prinses Amalialaan Bypass
- The intersection of Prinses Amalialaan and Jan Mathijssenlaan
- Bicycle and pedestrian access on the north side via the N218
- Street lighting
- The Greenery and Plantings
