Bush strolling

Residents of Voorne aan Zee were allowed to dig out plants from the park on the Ruy in Oostvoorne for their own gardens on Saturday, November 1. The plants in the village park have to go to make the land ready for building. They were good quality perennials such as asters and geraniums. Aldermen Daan van Orselen and Robert van der Kooi gave the starting signal at 10 a.m. together with the design manager of Bouwgroep Schrijver. Residents had until 2 p.m. to use their own tools to dig out a few (maximum of fifteen) plants per address and plant them in their own gardens.

This action is part of the preparations for the construction of the 24 life-proof apartments. The bushes in the current village park, located between apartment complex De Brielsche Hoeck and the complex on the Elisabethhof, had to go in order to make the land ready for construction. The municipality thinks it is a waste to remove and dispose of the plants and therefore gave residents of Voorne aan Zee the opportunity to collect plants.

With the signing of a building contract on Tuesday, June 10, an important step was taken for the construction of 12 social rental and 12 middle rental apartments on the Burgemeester Bolwidtweg in Oostvoorne.

Alderman Daan van Orselen of Woonbedrijf Voorne aan Zee and Landré Schrijver, director of Bouwgroep Schrijver signed for the 24 life-proof apartments. Whereby the current park, green strip and existing footpaths located between apartment complex the Brielsche Hoeck and the apartment complex on the Elisabethhof will be preserved as much as possible.

Preparations for construction have now begun. This project will involve the construction of homes for senior citizens. There will be one residential block with four floors. All homes will have two bedrooms. The homes will be rented out and managed by Woonbedrijf. Information about how to register will be communicated widely at a later date. The homes will be offered in due course via Woonnet Rijnmond, and are expected to be available in February 2026. It is therefore not yet possible to register or express your interest. If you have any questions, please contact Woonbedrijf on 14 0181 from Monday to Thursday between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. You can also send an email to nl.

The new homes will be very energy efficient, designed as so-called 'zero-energy homes'. This means that the solar panels will generate all the energy for the installations and also (part of) the energy for personal use. The parking spaces and approximately half of the park will remain as they are now. The homes are expected to be ready in early 2027.
