Privacy statement early warning to prevent debt problems
Processing of personal data in the context of: Early warning
A preventive method of identifying and/or preventing debt problems by receiving signals of arrears from various partners (including energy suppliers and landlords) and making the resident an offer of help in response.
Purpose of processing personal data is:
The goal of early signaling is to provide support to residents with impending financial problems at the earliest possible stage. This prevents residents from facing mounting problems in multiple areas of life. The ultimate goal is that residents can restore payments on primary fixed expenses as quickly as possible and minimize the need for debt mediation because they have already been reached and helped through early signaling.
Based on which we do this:
The legal basis is found in Article 6(1)(e) of the AVG: the processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.
From whom do we record personal data:
We record personal data of the main resident from whom a signal of arrears (of at least 2 months) has been received.
What personal data do we record:
As part of the signal, we process the following personal data:
- Name, address and city
- Contact details
- Duration and amount of arrears
- If applicable the family composition
We may share this personal data with:
Personal data is not shared with other recipients. A debt service program may follow the early warning signal, see the Debt Service Privacy Statement for further information.
How long we keep this personal data:
The retention period is 6 months.
You have the right to inspect, correct and destroy your personal data on file:
You have the right to inspect the file. For the right to inspect, you can contact the Debt Services at the municipality in writing. You must clearly indicate which information you wish to inspect. You can have your information in your file amended if it appears that the information is incorrect or incomplete.
