Recreational area Plas van Heenvliet
The municipality is currently investigating which forms of recreation are best suited to the future prospects of Heenvliet Lake. In addition, the municipality is investigating how the adjacent area "the State Triangle" can be involved in the redevelopment of the Lake. A first step in this research is to conduct a support measurement among residents of Zwartewaal and Heenvliet about how they would like to recreate at the Lake in the future. This support measurement has now taken place. Research firm Citisens conducted a questionnaire among residents of Zwartewaal and Heenvliet. 393 residents completed the questionnaire. This response is considered representative by the research bureau. Below is a summary of the results of the public support measurement.

This survey examined whether the plans are still desired. 393 residents completed the questionnaire. Below you can read the most important results.
Lake Heenvliet associated with recreation, as well as pollution
Residents of Zwartewaal and Heenvliet have different thoughts about Heenvliet Lake. Part of the residents think of the Pond primarily in terms of (the possibilities for) recreation such as walking the dog, playing sports or swimming. Almost half of the inhabitants from Zwartewaal and a third of the inhabitants from Heenvliet associate the Pond with this. On the other hand, a large proportion of residents also think of pollution. One third of the residents have this association. Finally, part of the residents also think of the Puddle of Heenvliet in terms of work that takes a long time.

Majority of residents interested in recreation at Heenvliet pond
We showed residents the current plans for Heenvliet Lake. A majority of these residents are in favor of it. Seven in ten say they would like to recreate at the Pond in the future based on this plan. For the residents who do not want this, pollution of the Pond is the main reason.
Walking and benches key components of current plan
Residents who would like to recreate at Heenvliet Pond in the future based on the current plan especially value the walking paths and benches included in the current plan. Bike paths, the beach and the swale wall are also chosen by a majority of residents as important features. Residents consider the fish bank the least important.

Alternative interpretations of recreation at the Lake
Of all the residents who completed the questionnaire, only five explicitly stated that they would not like to visit the Pond for any form of recreation in the future. The majority of residents have an idea of how they would like to use the area around the Pond. Seven in ten residents like to go hiking at the Pond. Cycling and visiting restaurants are also chosen frequently. Playing is chosen less often, but is often considered most important by those who choose it. The least often residents choose supping or fishing.
