Reception of asylum seekers
Future-proof reception of asylum seekers
Under the Distribution Act, we are obliged to provide 388 reception places for asylum seekers in our municipality. The current location, the reception ship, offers 150 places and will be available until December 31, 2026. This means that we will be working towards a future-proof reception facility in the coming period. We do not yet have any locations in mind for this. We are involving our residents, partners, and the municipal council in finding and realizing suitable accommodation locations.
Together with residents, partners, and the city council
We recognize the social consequences of this task for our residents and the surrounding area, and we want to carry out this task in a way that suits Voorne aan Zee. That is why we are involving our residents, partners, and municipal council in the steps needed to find and realize suitable locations. We listen to their ideas and concerns. We ensure that everyone can easily find information, and we show them what we are doing with their input.
City council contributes ideas for approach to participation and communication
The Municipal Executive first asks the City Council to contribute ideas on how to involve residents, partners, and the Council in the search for suitable locations. The Municipal Executive will use this input in its approach and will ask the council to take a decision on this. The Council Information Letter on Future-Proof Reception Facilities under the Distribution Act ( , RIB) provides more information about our principles and the role of the council in this phase.
