View environmental plan

The environmental plan contains all the municipal rules that govern the environment in which we live, work and relax.

The entire territory of the Municipality of Voorne aan Zee is subject to zoning plans and management regulations. These regulate, among other things, what may and may not be built and what grounds and buildings may be used for.

On January 1, 2024, the Omgevingswet came into force. Currently, we are still in a transition phase from the old Spatial Planning Act to the Omgevingswet.

Under the terms of the Omgevingswet Act, all municipalities in the Netherlands must have a single environmental plan for the entire municipality by 2032 at the latest, replacing all the various zoning and management regulations. With the introduction of the Omgevingswet , all these old documents together with government rules ('dowry') and some local rules (e.g. archaeology ordinance) have already been bundled into one temporary environmental plan by operation of law.

Information about the temporary environmental plan can be found on the website omgevingswet (Map). View the zoning plans for the outlying area of the former municipalities via the website omgevingsplan Brielle and the website omgevingsplan Westvoorne.

Beginning in 2025, the municipality will begin work on creating a single new environmental plan for the entire municipality that will eventually replace the temporary environmental plan.
