Minicontainers

The municipality collects household waste in two ways. Which method applies to you depends on your address.

You live in an apartment or ground floor apartment

You use the underground containers in your neighborhood.

You live in a different type of home

You will receive a mini-container with a capacity of 140 or 240 liters for each type of waste:

  • Vegetable, fruit and garden (GFT) waste.
  • Waste paper
  • Plastic, metal and drinking containers (PMD).
  • Residual waste (in Oostvoorne, Rockanje and Tinte only in 140 liters)

You can request a larger or smaller mini-container yourself. In Oostvoorne, Rockanje, and Tinte, you can also put PMD waste in a plastic bag.

In the Reinis app ( ), you'll find a schedule showing when to put out each mini-container. Log in with your ZIP code and house number to see, on a monthly basis, when each mini-container will be emptied.

Requesting (extra) minicontainer or making a change

Would you like to request a mini-container or report a change? Please call Reinis at 0181 612864.

Here's how it works

Use of Mini-Containers

  • Affix the municipal sticker to your mini-container. The container will not be emptied if it does not have a sticker.
  • Place the mini-container on your own property outside of the collection times, not on public roads.
  • It is best not to place your mini-container—especially the one for organic waste—in direct sunlight.
  • Is your mini-container missing? Report it to the municipality. With a copy of the police report, you can request a new mini-container.
  • The mini-container belongs to the house. Therefore, please leave the container behind when you move. Leave the address stickers on.

Filling the mini-container

  • Don't pack the trash too tightly.
  • Do not fill the mini-container beyond the rim, and present it with the lid closed.
  • Do not put more than about 75 kilo of waste in the mini-container.

Putting Out Trash

  • Place the mini-container outside starting at 6:00 p.m. on the day before collection. Bring it back inside no later than 10:00 p.m. on the day of collection.
  • Place the mini-container in a spot that is easily accessible to the garbage truck.
  • Place the mini-container with the handles facing the road.
  • Do not place trash next to the mini-container. The collection crew will not pick it up.

When will my mini-container be emptied?

Check the Reinis app at to see when your mini-container will be emptied. Log in with your ZIP code and house number.

Sticker and barcode on your minicontainer

Your mini-container has a sticker with your address information and a barcode. There is also a chip inside the container. The sticker and chip:

  • specify what type of waste you are using the container for;
  • indicate the address associated with the container;
  • help the collector determine how many containers need to be emptied;
  • help identify any mini-containers that are found;
  • are used to track defects and repairs.

Without a sticker, your mini-container will not be emptied. You will then receive a red " Map " explaining what you need to do.

Is the sticker missing or no longer legible? If so, please call Reinis at 0181 612864.
