Minicontainers

The municipality collects household waste in 2 ways. Which way applies to you depends on your address.

You live in an apartment or ground floor apartment

You use the underground containers in your neighborhood.

You live in a different type of home

You will receive a mini-container with a capacity of 140 or 240 liters for each type of waste:

  • Vegetable, fruit and garden (GFT) waste.
  • Waste paper
  • Plastic, metal and drinking containers (PMD).
  • Residual waste (in Oostvoorne, Rockanje and Tinte only in 140 liters)

You can request a larger or smaller size mini-container yourself. You can also put PMD waste in a 'Plastic Heroes' bag in Oostvoorne, Rockanje and Tinte.

In the AfvalWijzer you will find an overview of when you should offer which mini-container. You log in with your zip code and house number and can see per month when which mini container is emptied.

How does it work?

Use of mini-containers

  • The mini-container must have the sticker provided by the municipality, without a sticker the container may not be emptied by the collection crew.
  • Place the mini-container on your own property outside of the delivery times and not on the public road.
  • Preferably do not place the mini-container, especially the mini-container for the GFT, in the sun.
  • If your minicontainer goes missing, you should report it to the municipality. With a copy of the report, you can request a new mini-container from the municipality.
  • The mini-containers belong to the home, so when moving, place them inside and leave the address stickers in place.

Filling the mini-container

  • Do not stuff the waste too tightly into the mini-container.
  • Do not fill the mini-container beyond the lid rim (offer mini-container with the lid closed).
  • No more waste in the mini-container than ± 75 kg.

Offering waste in a mini-container

  • The mini-container may be placed on the public road from 6 p.m. on the day prior to emptying until 10 p.m. on the day of emptying.
  • Offer the mini-container in an easily accessible place (for the garbage truck).
  • Offer the mini-container with the handles facing the road.
  • Do not offer trash next to the mini-container, this may not be taken by the collection crew.

When are the mini-containers emptied?

More information can be found on the My AfvalWijzer website .

Sticker and barcode on your minicontainer

On your mini-containers is a sticker with a barcode and your address information. There is also a chip in each mini-container. The sticker and chip:

  • Indicate the type of waste for which the mini-container may be used.
  • Indicate which address the mini-container belongs to.
  • Assist the waste collector in determining how many mini-containers should be emptied.
  • Are needed to identify found mini-containers.
  • Are used for tracking defects and repairs.

Without a sticker on your mini-container, it will not be emptied. A red Map is then hung on the mini-container that tells you what to do.

Is the sticker off or no longer legible? If so, please use the form under the 'request' heading.
