Assistance with the child care subsidy scandal

The Tax and Customs Administration will compensate you for your financial losses. However, the scandal often has a significant impact on your life as well. The municipality is happy to help you make a fresh start. We offer support to parents, children, and former partners.

What can the municipality do? for you do?

Our case managers will work with you to determine what kind of assistance you need. We offer support in five key areas:

  • Finance: Help with debt and income.
  • Housing: assistance with housing issues.
  • Health: assistance with mental or physical health issues.
  • Family: support with parenting and family issues.
  • Work and daily activities: assistance in finding a job or meaningful ways to spend your day.

For children and young people (The Children's Scheme)

Are you the child or teenager of a parent affected by the benefits scandal? This scandal has impacted your life as well. In addition to national financial assistance, the municipality is happy to help you build a positive future:

  • Your future: help with school, an internship, or a job.
  • Feeling good about yourself: extra support if you're struggling with something or just need to talk.
  • Leisure: assistance with sports, culture, or hobbies.
  • Contact us directly: Are you between the ages of 12 and 21? If so, you can call or email us yourself, without your parents needing to be present.

Are you an adult who was a victim of child abuse? If so, you may be eligible for debt relief.

For ex-partners

Are you the former partner of a parent who has been victimized? The Former Partner Assistance Program has been in effect since 2025. In addition to the national compensation, you can also contact your local municipality for assistance with debt, housing, or Health. We are happy to support you as you make a fresh start.

Recovery interest

Since February 2026, special attention has been given to correcting errors in the interest rates applied to previous compensation payments. Have you already received compensation?
