Asking for help or support

If you are no longer able to do everything yourself due to illness, a disability or old age, the municipality will work with you to find a solution. First of all, the municipality examines whether you can solve your problem yourself. You can, for example, get help from family, friends and acquaintances. The municipality will also see if a general assistance service can help you. Think of a handyman service, shopping service or wheelchair pool.

If this is not enough, the municipality can give you individual help. This help is aimed at ensuring that you can continue to do as much as possible yourself. For example:

  • domestic help
  • A wheelchair or a modification to your wheelchair
  • collective transportation, a mobility scooter or a modification to your car
  • aids or adaptations in your home
  • guidance
  • shelter
  • assisted living

How does it work?

You notify the municipality that you need help. 'Every working day from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., you can contact the Wmo consultants during the telephone consultation hour by calling: 14 0181. You explain what you have problems with. For example: 'I can no longer cook for myself'.

Personal plan

Once you have reported your problem, you can also create a personal plan and send it to the municipality. In this personal plan, you indicate what you think you need and why. You have up to 7 days from the date of notification to make this plan. This period starts after you have submitted the notification. If you do not submit a personal plan, there is no problem. It is not mandatory to submit a personal plan. It will not affect your subsequent application.

Research

To conduct research, an interview with you is usually conducted. This can be done at your home, at the city office or over the phone. You can either have a family member, family caregiver or someone you know well attend the interview. These people may be able to help you and us clarify your situation and get all the information straight. Can no one attend the interview or would you like more professional information or independent advice first? Then contact the client support of the MEE foundation. or SBO. This help is free and is entirely focused on your support.

Own contribution

A Wmo facility is subject to a co-payment. You never pay more than the cost price. This is determined and collected by the CAK. This depends on your age and living situation. You can find more information on the CAK website | Calculate own contribution
