Use logo and municipal coat of arms

The municipal logo is an exclusive distinguishing mark of the municipality Voorne aan Zee It is protected and may only be used in municipal expressions Voorne aan Zee . The municipality has the copyright and trademark rights. Therefore, the use of the logo or parts thereof by individuals, associations, companies or institutions without permission is not permitted. The use of logos that strongly resemble the logo of the municipality is also prohibited. Voorne aan Zee is not allowed.

The municipality can grant permission to others to use the logo. The following conditions apply to this Requirements :

• A request for the use of the logo must be submitted to the municipality by sending an email to nl .
• The request must clearly indicate how the logo will be used.
• The applicant sends an image/proof of the final product on which the logo is depicted to nl .
• With permission, the logo is provided once. It may only be used for the purpose for which permission was given. The logo is and remains the property of the municipality.
• If you are granted permission to use the logo, you may not distort or otherwise alter the logo, such as stretching, mirroring, or using a different font.
• Because the municipality is a government institution, the logo may not be used in any way for advertising or commercial purposes.

It is not permitted to use the old logos, coats of arms (or part thereof) of the former municipalities of Brielle, Hellevoetsluis or Westvoorne (or their predecessors) in any form whatsoever. When the former municipalities merge into the new municipality Voorne aan Zee these have expired.

The municipal coat of arms of Voorne aan Zee has been granted to the municipality by Royal Decree and is used for official occasions and on official documents reserved for the board of mayor and aldermen.

Only in exceptional circumstances will third parties be granted permission to use the municipal coat of arms. A request for this must be submitted in writing to the board of mayor and aldermen, with a description of the purpose and the manner in which the municipal coat of arms is to be used. The municipal flag is something different than a flag with the logo of the municipality. The municipal flag is the official flag of the municipality and its design is in line with the municipal coat of arms. This flag represents the (historical) identity of the municipality. The design of a municipal flag is based on the history and heraldry of the former municipalities of Brielle, Hellevoetsluis and Westvoorne. This flag represents the municipality and its residents. The municipal flag of Voorne aan Zee is recorded in the official Dutch flag register.

Municipal flag Voorne aan Zee

The municipal flag reflects the colours that match Voorne aan Zee : the blue of the sea, the yellow of the dunes and the green of the land. The horizontal wavy stripes refer to the sea. The Burcht van Voorne with the lion is intended as a historical regional symbol for the whole of Voorne.

The castle of Voorne, built in the Middle Ages, served as a refuge for the population in times of danger and as a symbol goes back to the origin of Voorne, when it was still one entity. The castle thus emphasizes the connection of the cores in this merged municipality, also because it is the oldest monument in the municipality. In the course of history, the image of the castle in combination with the lion has been incorporated in various coats of arms, including the new municipal coat of arms of Voorne aan Zee .

Use municipal flag

The municipal flag can be flown without the permission of the municipality Voorne aan Zee are used.

It is customary to use an official municipal flag:
1. on occasions of an official or ceremonial nature;
2. at locations of a tourist or historical nature (such as a museum or mill)

The municipal flag can also be used by residents, associations, foundations and other organizations that would like to show their kinship with the municipality during competitions, performances or meetings, for example. Requesting a municipal flag via the municipality

The municipality issues only to organized venues with tourist or historical flags such as a museum and on occasions of an official or ceremonial nature.

Only the municipality Voorne aan Zee may use the flag with the municipal logo. It is not permitted to have flags made with the municipal logo yourself.

In exceptional situations, a flag with the municipal logo can be borrowed from the municipality. For example, at the start of a (construction) project, at events or organizations that have a partnership with the municipality. For this, contact the municipality's Communications team via nl .

The municipal house style, the municipal logo and the municipal coat of arms of Voorne aan Zee may only be used by the municipality itself. You may not use the corporate identity or logo of Voorne aan Zee without permission. This also applies to parts of our corporate identity, such as shapes, colors, fonts, etc. Our house style and logo are protected by law. We can take action against unauthorized use.

Sometimes the use is allowed, but only under special Requirements, such as if it is a referral to the municipality. You must request written permission from the municipality in advance at nl
