Flex homes Provenierstraat Vierpolders

The municipality of Voorne aan Zee has built five flexible-use homes on Provenierstraat in Vierpolders for first-time homebuyers and those in urgent need of housing. The site is owned by the municipality. We refer to them as flexible-use homes because they have been built on a temporary basis, for a period of ten years. The homes are small but of high quality, with a single story.

How have local residents been involved?

Meetings were held in 2023 to allow local residents to contribute ideas about the plan for the flex housing. Ideas were given for the design of the outdoor space, parking and the sewer connection. These suggestions were incorporated into the urban design.

Who will be moving in, and when?

On May 20, 2025, the municipality applied for an environmental permit to install flexible housing units for a period of ten years. This permit has since been granted.

The municipality and the housing authority Ressort Wonen have agreed that 5 homes will become available.
Of these, 2 homes are intended for people in urgent need of housing referred by the municipality. The other 3 homes are for first-time homebuyers.

The two homes for people in urgent need of housing have been occupied since September 2026.
The three homes for first-time renters are currently being prepared for rental. The Housing Department will soon send a letter to residents of Vierpolders explaining how this process will proceed.

What are "urgent seekers"?

By “emergency cases,” we mean families with children who have become homeless. Due to these circumstances, they find themselves in a difficult and sometimes dire situation that requires a quick solution.
