Own contribution for the Wmo

Do you or another member of your family receive help or an aid from the municipality under the Social Support Act (Wmo)? If so, you may have to pay a personal contribution for this. With the personal contribution, you pay part of the cost of the help or resource. You pay the personal contribution to the Central Administration Office (CAK).

Requirements

From January 1, 2024, the own contribution will be €20.60 per month. This is a decision of the Minister for VWS due to rising costs for Wmo and inflation.

Co-payment for customized support

You pay a co-payment for customized support. For example, for help with the household or a mobility scooter. And for Health which you pay yourself with a personal budget (pgb). Home modifications such as a stairlift or shower chair also fall under the personal contribution.

When do I not pay a Wmo co-payment?

You do not always pay a co-payment for help or an aid from the Wmo:

  • For a wheelchair, you do not pay a co-payment;
  • if you have no assets and a family income up to 120% of the social assistance standard, you do not pay a co-payment. The municipality will then pay these costs for you;
  • If you also receive help from the Long-Term Health Care Act (Wlz) and pay a co-payment for it, you do not have to pay it for help from the Wmo. This is how we prevent an accumulation of co-payments.
