Ports Energy and Carbon Saving sustainability impulse.

The former municipality of Hellevoetsluis has participated in the Sustainability Impulse Ports project since July 2017. This is paid for by the Interreg Two Seas Program 2014-2020 of the European Union and the Province of South Holland.

The goal of the project is to apply low-carbon technologies in small and medium-sized ports through research and testing. The ultimate goal is to reduce CO2 emissions in ports. Trials of small wind turbines and floating solar panels are being conducted in the port area.
