Assistance, communicating change

Changes in your personal situation may affect your Social assistance benefit. You are required to report these changes to the municipality immediately.

How does it work?

The amount of your Social assistance benefit depends on your personal situation. The municipality determines the amount of your benefit with the information you have provided. If these data are no longer correct, you may receive too much or too little money.

Examples of changes you should report

Work and education

  • You start working or stop working.
  • You will work more or fewer hours.
  • You will attend a training program.

Living

  • You are moving in together.
  • Someone is moving into your home.
  • You have a home abroad.

Children

  • If your children are registered with you, but they are moving.
  • If your adult child stops training or studying.

Other income

  • If you won the lottery.
  • If you have received an inheritance.

What should I do?

  • You report the changes to the municipality as soon as possible. To do so, call 14 0181.
  • If you do not report changes or do not report them immediately, the municipality may fine you. The municipality may also temporarily reduce or stop your benefits.
  • Money you received too much must be repaid in full.
