If you disagree with a decision made by the Municipality of Voorne aan Zee, or if you have any questions about it, you can contact us about it. We will be happy to answer your questions. It is also possible to object to a decision.

You may file an objection within 6 weeks after the decision is announced. In principle, an objection filed after the deadline cannot be considered.

Here's how it works

You object to a decision by writing a notice of objection and sending it to us. Make sure your objection includes the following information 

  • Your name, address and phone number so we can contact you if necessary;
  • The date you write the objection;
  • The date and reference of the decision to which your objection relates;
  • Why you disagree with the decision;
  • sign the objection with your signature.

Furthermore, please also send a copy of the decision you disagree with. Is someone else objecting on your behalf? Make sure that you authorize this person and enclose it with the objection.

How does it continue?

  • Once we have received your objection, we will send you an acknowledgement of receipt;
  • In most cases, you will be invited to explain your objection. We call this a hearing. The "hearing" is conducted by an independent advisory committee;
  • After carefully reviewing the case file related to your appeal, the advisory committee will issue a recommendation to us. We will then make a decision on your appeal. This decision, along with the committee’s recommendation and a report on the hearing, will be sent to you.

How long does it take?

Once we have received your appeal, you will receive a letter from us regarding the next steps. We will make a decision within 12 weeks after the appeal period ends. We may extend this period by 6 weeks.

If you disagree with the decision on your objection, you can check the decision to see if you can file an appeal with the court . You must file your appeal within 6 weeks.
