Plastic, metal and drinking containers (PMD)

The municipality of Voorne aan Zee still collects plastic and metal packaging and drinking cartons in different ways. In the towns of Brielle, Vierpolders and Zwartewaal we use the orange mini-container for this purpose. In the towns of Oostvoorne, Rockanje and Tinte, we also allow the so-called Plastic Heroes bags in addition to the orange mini-container. In Hellevoetsluis and Oudenhoorn, we now only collect PMD via containers in the neighborhood. You can also hand in PMD at the Environmental park.

There is a €0.15 deposit on small plastic bottles of soft drinks and water. These bottles can be recognized by the new deposit logo. You can hand in these bottles at (larger) supermarkets, gas stations along the highway, NS stations and some other places such as sports clubs.

Milieucentraal.nl lists what waste falls under plastic, metal and drinking cartons.

Do you have a report about trash containers in your neighborhood? If so, please contact our customer contact center at 14 0181.

What should I do?

  • Health that all packages are empty. There is no need to rinse out the package.
  • Caps may remain on packages.
  • Beverage cartons you can fold flat first and screw the cap back on before throwing them away.
  • Remove paper, cardboard or aluminum foil.
  • It is best to bend canning jar lids inward.

Not all types of plastic are allowed in the PMD. These are usually large or long pieces of plastic, such as agricultural plastic and/or shrink wrap. Buckets, tubs and so on are also household items, but are not included in PMD. This is because these are hard plastics.

Unsure if your trash belongs in PMD? Take a look at the AfvalWijzer.

Turn in plastic that does not belong to the PMD

Do you want to offer plastic that does not belong to the PMD waste? Then read the Waste Separation Guide.

Good to know about PMD

Do you still deliver material that does not belong to the PMD waste? Then the collector will leave the waste. You are responsible for removing that material from your PMD waste yourself. Contamination of the PMD waste leads to rejection of the completely collected batch of PMD waste. That will then be incinerated. A missed opportunity because a valuable raw material is lost as a result.
