Advisory Councils

In Voorne aan Zee , there are a number of committees that advise the municipal government. These are the following committees:

Social Domain Advisory Council

The Social Domain Advisory Council (ASD) advises the Municipal Executive (B&W) on the local implementation of legislation in the Social Domain. This involves all kinds of issues that are important to you as a citizen. Think of housing, Health, welfare, work, income and youth policy.

These matters fall under the Social Support Act (Wmo), the Participation Act or the Youth Act. The council itself is also divided into those three categories.

Of and for residents

The ASD is of and for citizens. Members of the Advisory Council are concerned citizens. The ASD is appointed by the city council. At the same time, it is an independent party. The ASD advises from the perspective of the resident. It does so by talking to citizens and businesses in Voorne aan Zee. The ASD incorporates the knowledge and experience of residents and professionals in its advice to the municipal executive.

The goal of the ASD is for the municipality to implement quality policies that meet the needs of the residents of Voorne aan Zee. Read more about the duties and powers of the ASD.

Areas of focus

The ASD deals with issues within the Social Domain. Examples include;

  • Support for independent (continued) living, self-reliance and living with an illness or disability (Wmo)
  • Help with work and income (Participation Act)
  • All forms of youth assistance such as: help with parenting and growing up, appropriate education and help with family problems (Youth Act)

Meetings

The ASD meets approximately 10 times a year. ASD meetings are open to the public.

The meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be held at the Hellevoetsluis Town Hall.
