Register as a trader

The Digital Buyers Register (DOR) is an online buying and selling register. In this system you register the goods you buy and sell. The purpose of the DOR is to combat fencing. It also helps the municipality and police to return stolen goods to their rightful owners.

In the DOR you can check whether goods are registered with the police as stolen. If you enter an item that has been stolen, the police will automatically receive a notification and the item will be picked up from you.

What should I do?

How does it work?

If you regularly buy up and resell used items, you are required to register as a collector with the municipality. You are also required to keep track of your purchased items in a buyers register. This is mandatory to ensure that no stolen items are sold.

What is healing?

Heling is the buying, possessing or selling of stolen products and vehicles. Healing is a criminal offense. Healing also includes buying products when you could have suspected that the item was stolen. For example, you may buy a bicycle, cell phone or car for a price that is actually too good to be true. That price often is. Most of the time, it is a stolen product.

The Municipality of Voorne aan Zee considers freedom for entrepreneurs very important. Any entrepreneur can carry out the profession of trader/buyer. Traders also belong to a municipality like Voorne aan Zee Zee, but part of this industry is vulnerable to enabling crime. Second-hand products can be quickly converted into cash through traders. The products offered may come from theft. Thus, a trader may (unintentionally) be guilty of receiving stolen products when they purchase the offered products.

Control vianl

The Municipality of Voorne aan Zee wants traders to investigate the origin of products before they are purchased. This allows the trader to avoid purchasing stolen products. The police register all stolen products. On the website nl or via the app Stopheling you can check whether a product has been reported as stolen.

Do you notice afterwards that you have bought something that has been stolen? Then you can use the DOR to report receiving stolen goods directly. You can then apply for a refund from the customer who sold you the stolen goods.
