Housing association Voorne aan Zee senior tenants move to more suitable housing

Housing association Voorne aan Zee taken a successful step in its initiative to assist senior tenants in moving to smaller and/or single-story homes.

Alderman Orselen visits Mrs. de Bruin with a housing coach and presents her with a bouquet of flowers.

Ms. De Bruin is one of the first tenants who, with the help of the housing coaches, has exchanged her single-family home for a comfortable senior citizen's home on De Ruy in Oostvoorne. To celebrate this, Alderman van Orselen recently joined the housing coach for a cup of coffee with Ms. De Bruin in her new home.

Alderman van Orselen: "By deploying housing coaches, Woonbedrijf wants to help senior tenants live independently and comfortably in a home that better suits their current and future needs. It's great that Woonbedrijf is able to facilitate such a smooth transition, especially in the current tight housing market."

The Woonbedrijf is increasingly receiving requests from senior tenants asking if they can move. The Woonbedrijf has therefore launched the 'senior housing coach' project to help seniors move to a home that better suits their situation. This project also stimulates movement within the housing stock, making vacant homes available to families who need more space.

Affordable housing, even in the future

Woonbedrijf Voorne aan Zee part of the municipality Voorne aan Zee owns 1,425 homes. The housing association will continue to be committed to providing good, affordable housing in the coming years.
