Voorne aan Zee proudly accepts Blue Flag again
Municipality of Voorne aan Zee is once again proud to receive the Blue Flag in 2025. The flag has again been awarded to Rockanje beach , Quack beach in Hellevoetsluis and various marinas in the region. Alderman Aart Jan Spoon of Tourism and Economy received the coveted award on behalf of the municipality and emphasized the importance of this recognition.
Quality and cooperation
Alderman Spoon: "The Blue Flag symbolizes that our beaches and marinas are clean, safe and sustainable. Obtaining this flag is not a matter of course. It is a reward for the efforts of our Rescue Brigades in Rockanje and Hellevoetsluis, Voorne-Putten Werkt and all the volunteers who work to keep our beaches and waters in top condition. This year we can be proud again to recognize our beautiful coast and marinas."
Marinas with Blue Flag status
In addition to the beaches of Voorne aan Zee , Jachthaven Geijsman in Oostvoorne and the marinas WSV Haringvliet, Marina Cape Helius and Watersportvereniging Haringvliet Kanaalhaven in Hellevoetsluis may also hoist the Blue Flag. These marinas are known for their excellent facilities and commitment to sustainability.
About the Blue Flag
The Blue Flag is an international award given annually by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). The label is valid for one year and is awarded to beaches and marinas that meet strict criteria in the areas of clean water, safety, environmental management and facilities. By 2025, as many as 202 locations will be allowed to fly the Blue Flag. These include 145 marinas, 50 beaches and 7 inland beaches.
