Voorne aan Zee colors orange during Orange the World
As in previous years, a number of places in the municipality of Voorne aan Zee will be lit orange during Orange the World. This shows our support for the global campaign against violence against women.
This campaign takes place annually between Nov. 25, the International Day Against Violence Against Women, and Dec. 10, International Human Rights Day.
But we do more. Throughout the year, we actively work to make residents aware of domestic violence, recognize its signs and options for seeking help. We also offer training to professionals, teachers and sports and exercise providers to better recognize the signs and bring cases of domestic violence into focus earlier.
Invitation Dec. 2: Standing together against violence against women and girls
We cordially invite you to an inspiring evening on Tuesday, December 2, in which we will reflect together on an urgent and topical issue, Femicide - the deadly violence against women and girls. Together we want to raise awareness, show solidarity with victims and strengthen the community to work together for a future without violence.
On this evening Esther Wijnen tells her personal story. Esther is the author of the book "You are the problem" - My life with partner violence. Afterwards the movie "It's up to me" will be shown, followed by an interactive training "The invisible remote control". A survivor and expert will show you the red flags, the life-saving question and what not to do.
